With three vaccines available in the market today, we can finally begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. State and federal governments are focused on getting doses into the hands of pharmacies and providers, who are doing everything in their power to get shots in arms efficiently and ensure equitable access for patients. Over the last several months we’ve made massive progress in the national inoculation movement, with over 50% of the U.S. population having received one dose, and 41% percent fully vaccinated as of early June.

Morning Consult recently published an op-ed by Rich Tremonte, President - Community & Specialty Pharmacy at AmerisourceBergen, entitled: “Now Is the Time to Grant Pharmacists Full Vaccination Authority In All 50 States & Permanently Recognize Pharmacists as Providers In Medicare.”

Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Elevate Provider Network are in full support of HB 1919— Texas legislation to regulate PBMs and protect independent community pharmacists and their patients. We are asking independent pharmacists to contact their Texas state senator and urge them to vote YES on HB 1919.

Please call your Texas State Senator by 9:00am Wednesday, May 19th, and urge their support for three bills - TX HB 1919, TX HB 2787, and TX HB 678. These critical bills will help to regulate Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to protect independent community pharmacists, and Texas patients, as well as increase access to lifesaving vaccines.
